The governing law is the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP, in force since 1 September 2023), supervised by the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). Where the EU GDPR additionally applies, we also meet its requirements.
2. What data we process, and why
- Contact form: name, email and the text of your request. Purpose: answering your request. Basis: steps taken at your request prior to a possible engagement.
- Documents for your tax return: the documents you hand over to us (your receipts, if available your already-prepared return and last year's return). Purpose: preparing or checking your tax return and producing the verification log. Basis: the engagement or the steps preceding it, plus your express consent when sending them by email.
- Connection data: when you visit this website, our hosting provider (section 5) processes technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time of access and browser identifier. Purpose: delivering and securing the website. This data is kept only briefly and is not combined with your engagement data.
This website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services.
We log the date, origin and exact wording of every consent.
3. Data location and working rules
Where your engagement documents are processed follows from the providers named in section 5; no disclosure takes place to any country without adequate protection. Identifying data (names, AHV numbers, account numbers) are removed or replaced before any external AI service is used. Demos always run on sample documents. Every verification step is logged and given a digital fingerprint (hash).
No automated decisions: the AI prepares or checks, but decides nothing about you: you receive the result to review, and you confirm and file the return yourself. There is no automated individual decision within the meaning of art. 21 revDSG and no profiling.
4. How long we keep data
Contact data: for the duration of the exchange and at most 12 months after the last contact. Engagement documents: for the duration of the engagement; 30 days after it closes they are deleted. You can demand deletion of your documents earlier, at any time.
5. Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and do not pass them on for advertising. For operations we use technical providers: the hosting of this website (Cloudflare, Inc., USA — certified under the Swiss-U.S. and EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and covered by standard contractual clauses) and the receipt of your enquiries and documents by email: these arrive through Cloudflare Email Routing (Cloudflare, Inc., USA) and are handled in a Google mailbox (Google LLC, USA — certified under the Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework). We currently use no web form service: the buttons on this website open your own email programme, and your details reach us only once you send from there. If an external service is used for AI processing, it receives anonymised data only (sec. 3); we name the provider to you in writing before the engagement starts. On request, we sign a data processing agreement (art. 9 revFADP). No disclosure to countries without adequate protection within the meaning of Art. 16 revFADP.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, deletion, restriction, objection and delivery of your data. Write to kontakt@steuerfertig.ch. If you believe we have not handled your request correctly, you can complain to the FDPIC (edoeb.admin.ch); where there is an EU connection, also to the EU supervisory authority responsible for you.
7. Unsubscribing
We send no advertising and no newsletter: we only reply to what you write to us. You can ask to be unsubscribed at any time — replying to our email or writing to the address in section 1 is enough; it takes effect immediately.
